One of the most popular sweet ingredients in America is Marshmallow Fluff, produced by Durkee-Mower. It is an extremely versatile ingredient that can be used to make a huge variety of desserts and many people even just like to eat it straight from the jar!

In this article well look at the various different kinds of recipes you can use Marshmallow Fluff for youll be surprised at some of them!

You can now buy Marshmallow Fluff in the UK in jars of different sizes from online retailers of American food, which means you dont have to be in America to enjoy this delicious ingredient.

There are more than 50 recipes that use Marshmallow Fluff, from pies through drinks to sauces and frostings. These are our favourites.

Typically American, the Fluffernutter Pie combines Fluff with peanut butter. A pie casing of sorts is made using unsweetened cocoa powder and a hint of vanilla, combined with the usual ingredients for a pie casing.

The filling is then made by beating Marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter with butter, sugar and milk until it is light and fluffy. The filling is then added to the cooled pie casings to complete this Fluffernutter Pie.

Marshmallow Fluff can be used to create incredible shakes by blending it with combinations of fruit, fruit juice, milk, coffee granules, cocoa powder and yes, even peanut butter again! Combine with ice to make a delicious iced version of the drinks, which works especially well in a Frozen Coffee Shake milk, coffee granules and the Fluff all blended with ice. Give it a try!

You can even use it to make fudge (Never-Fail-Fudge as it is known), by combining it with butter, sugar, evaporated milk, chocolate pieces and vanilla, gently boiling it up in a saucepan before pouring it into a greased baking tray and allowing to cool were assured it never fails!

Fancy a sauce for your dessert? How about Butterscotch sauce? Its easy with Marshmallow Fluff just boil up water and brown sugar, then stir into the Fluff and butter to create this perfect sauce, ideal for topping sponge puddings and the like.

Or how about this for a very American souffl cook some sweet potatoes until soft and the beat them until they are smooth. Beat in eggs, milk, butter, salt and some Marshmallow Fluff and pour into a souffl dish, baking for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and spread the remaining Fluff over the top, right to the edges before returning to a hotter oven for 5-10 minutes to add that souffl crispiness.

Lastly, the frosting we mentioned earlier. This is a classic frosting for sponge cakes and is so simple to make. All you need is Fluff, egg whites, sugar, salt, water, cream of tartar and vanilla extract.

Combine everything except the vanilla in a bowl over hot water hot, not boiling! and beat until peaks begin to form. Take it off the heat and carry on beating until it is stiff, then add the vanilla and beat a little more. Thats it. Spread it between layers of cake and on top and youve got one seriously tasty dessert!

There are many, many more recipes using Marshmallow Fluff that demonstrate just how versatile this ingredient is. Get some today and start experimenting yourself.
